Update

Poker.co.uk had been down the last couple of days so couldn't play on there until tonight when I played three largely un-enjoyable games:

€2+0.20 Omaha 5 seater - Finished 2nd
€10+1 NLHE 10 seater - Finished 2nd
€5+0.50 NLHE 10 seater - Finished 8th (I had been flat calling bets on a paired board with king high flush, the river was a 2 and turned out he'd been betting with 2-2 so rivered a full house. Wasn't optimal play by me I suppose but he was a -73% ROI donk so I think I was well ahead of his range (obviously I was as he had just a pair of twos till the river).

So I made a profit again at least even if it wasn't much fun!

Latest news!!

Nothing too exciting, don't worry! I played a few of the usual games on Monday making a small profit (€5) which I lost last night with a bit of tilt induced bad play (not all by me mind you!) and have just played 3 games this evening with some success:

€10+1 Cooler (Pays top 5) - Finished in the top 5 for €20
€5+0.50 10 seater (Pays 4 places) - Finished 2nd for €14.50
€3+0.30 2-table (20 players) - Finished 1st for €24.60

The two table tournament was fairly easy to win after I sucked out early on with some over aggressive play - I floated a king high flop with A-J and I just didn't believe he had the king after he showed weakness on the turn so re-raised all in, he called with Q-Q but I hit an Ace on the river -oops! About time I was on the other end of a bad beat though haha! After that I seemed to hit hands quite often, and got paid off each time before bullying my way into a massive chip lead with 4 left, finishing first soon after. A good day! Think I'll stop for tonight before I get tired as that's when I seem to play badly.

Discipline

So... I've noticed a pretty regular pattern in my play. I start off in the afternoon playing well and winning. Then I carry on too long and stop concentrating as much, getting tired and generally not focusing, then I lose, then I tilt, then I lose more, then I act like a prick in the chat box. So apologies to all you donks out there I said "ffs" too or called you a fish, but I am trying to stop, I don't want to offend you, you're not an idiot/retard/spaztastic gashface, you played fine, now lets play again with my new found manners and good humour!! :D

Don't know how long that will last but I am being disciplined today and stopping while I've won a bit. (Also I am going to see The Prodigy at Brixton academy tomorrow so want to get an early night before work tomorrow - it's gonna be a looooong day!!)

As for details of todays games:

I played 2 Omaha Hi/Lo €2+0.20 5 seaters and a €3+0.30 NLHE 5 seater and in all three of them I got to heads up and the other person went on some sort of maniac rush raising or going all in every hand as if they are just happy to be in the money and so I ended up just having to make a stand and hope my hand held up - which it didn't, so three 2nd places there.

Then I thought "Why am I playing these low stakes when I am rolled for higher games?" I'm not sure of the answer to be honest, so I played two 5 seater NLHE games, a €5+0.50 and a €10+1. They went really well and I felt I was playing my best game, I've started reading about poker a lot again lately and feel it's really helped me so I was feeling really 'in the zone'. I got to heads up in the €10 with a slight chip lead and in the €5 I had relentlessly stolen pots to become a massive chip leader while the other 2 remaining players were on around 1000 chips each.... then the software crashed. ARGH!!! How am I supposed to not tilt under these conditions?! When I managed to re-connect I had lost over 1000 chips in the €10 and about 500 in the other, in which I immediately doubled one of the other players up with a tilt-ish all in shove (though they called with Q-J against my A-8). Managed to repel the tilty urges though and scraped back some chips in the €10 until I tried being tricky against my aggressive opponent:

Hello!

Me again, how are you?

Following my last post I had a good few days off and went on a pretty good run when I got back. I had a week off work so it helped not being tired when I played. I won 5 sit n gos in a row at one point and the bankroll was steadily rising - though since then I have done a bit of silly tilting!! Seem to be back on track now though! I have played 50ish games since my last post and have been mixing it up a bit and playing NLHE, Omaha Hi/lo and regular Omaha, a mixture of 5 and 10 seaters, turbo/non turbo, etc just to keep it interesting.

I did dabble in cash games, but lost 2 buy ins (€20) quite quickly - the first when I held the nut flush but they had a straight flush. The second I lost a bit thinking I had the nut low before I realised it wasn't Omaha Hi/Lo!! What a stupid rookie mistake!!! Shocking! So that set me off and I quickly tilted away the rest of that buy-in before returning to sit n gos.

Have also played a couple of MTT's with no real results except the odd cash here and there, nothing very much though.

I also keep registering for the freerolls and going all in every hand till I'm out when I go on tilt - it seems to help!! Though other people get a bit angry about it and call me a donk/fish, etc haha!

I plan on grinding it up playing sit n gos until I have enough to play the GTD Mtt's as it appears there is money to be made in these.
